Kokapetl is Tao's pet parakeet who interjects conversations every so often and warns the group of danger. Kokapetl is normally found sitting on the shoulder or head of Tao. This is probably due to being a bit fat and so he finds it a little hard to fly.
Kokapetl was named Pichu in the French version of The Mysterious Cities of Gold.
