Series overview:
The Mysterious Cities of Gold (more commonly known in French as Les Mystérieuses Cités d'or), is a cult-classic anime that was developed in France, and animated in Japan, to be later released in 1982.
The story, taking close inspiration from Scott O'Dell's novel "The King's Fifth", follows the adventures of a young boy named Esteban, a young Inca girl named Zia, and another boy named Tao, a descendant of an ancient civilisation named Mu (or "Hiva" in the English dub), accompanied by three adults: Mendoza, Pedro and Sancho. They are pursued by Gaspard and Gomez, two conquistadors who are hungry for gold, and who will stop at nothing to lay their hands on those cities. ...Will they get there before our heroes? :)
This series runs for four seasons in total, the second season being released back in 2012, by BlueSpirit Studios.
Additionally, some manga books of Season 1 have been released too, by KAZÉ.
